Frequently Asked Questions
The Egypt e-Visa is an electronic travel authorization issued by the Egyptian government for tourism and business travel. It's a convenient alternative to applying for a traditional visa at an embassy or consulate, allowing you to complete the entire process online and receive approval by email.
A single-entry e-Visa allows you one trip to Egypt for up to 30 days. The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. A multiple-entry e-Visa is valid for 180 days and allows unlimited visits to Egypt, with each stay not exceeding 30 days. Multiple-entry is ideal if you plan to visit Egypt multiple times or exit and re-enter during your travel period.
Most Egypt e-Visa applications are approved within 48 hours. However, processing can take up to 5 business days depending on your application's completeness and the current volume. We recommend applying at least 1 week before your travel date to allow time for processing.
The Egypt e-Visa itself cannot be extended. However, once you're in Egypt, you may be able to apply for a visa extension at the Immigration Authority. Alternatively, you can exit and re-enter Egypt using a multiple-entry e-Visa for another 30-day stay.
It's highly recommended to print your Egypt e-Visa approval and carry it with you during travel. While some border agents may accept a digital copy on your phone, having a physical copy eliminates any potential issues at immigration. Keep both a digital and printed copy for safety.
